Melinda’s DIY CBD Salve

If you’ve been around or follow The Coffee Joint, you might have seen my craft classes. I love to do do-it-yourself projects, and it doesn’t just end with arts and crafts. I try to live a holistic lifestyle as well, and make many of my own cosmetics. Of course that includes CBD, so making a salve of my own was a no-brainer. I love to give it to my family members who medicate with CBD salves; it’s a homemade gift from the heart, they know exactly what ingredients are used, and who’s handled it the whole time!

There’s a base recipe that you can use by itself, or add your own essential oils to. I’ve included two of my variations, but of course, tweak to your own preferences! Because I use the whole container of isolate, the overall mixture (before being poured into mason jars) will be 1000 mg.

Base Recipe:

Ingredients:

  • 4 oz mason jars
  • 1 cup organic virgin coconut oil
  • ¼ cup organic jojoba oil
  • 1000 milligrams of raw CBD isolate – I use Extract Labs

Melt together coconut oil and jojoba oil. Once mixed, add isolate and stir until melted. Pour into 4 oz mason jars. Place in dry, shaded area or in fridge to cool.

Sleepy-time Salve:

lavender buds

Ingredients:

  • ~base recipe~
  • 15 drops organic lavender oil (not exclusively aromatherapy)
  • 8 drops organic ylang ylang oil (not exclusively aromatherapy)
  • Dried lavender buds (optional)

Melt together coconut oil and jojoba oil. Once mixed, add isolate and stir until melted. Add essential oils and lavender buds. Pour into 4 oz mason jars. Add more lavender buds on top for decoration. Place in dry, shaded area or in fridge to cool.

Hyper-Healer:

lemonandtumeric

Ingredients:

  • ~base recipe~
  • ½ tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • ¼ tablespoon ground turmeric
  • 5 drops organic tea tree oil

Melt together coconut oil and jojoba oil. Once mixed, add isolate and stir until melted. Add fresh lemon juice and tea tree oil. Blend, then add turmeric and blend again. Pour into 4 oz mason jars. Place in dry, shaded area or in fridge to cool.

I hope these recipes serve you well, and if you have any variations you prefer, I’d love to hear about them! And a special thanks to Extract Labs for their dope and potent raw isolate.
